Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

A quick note here: Last Names of Recruits/Sailors are not allowed on this site. If it is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture.

With the delay from the postal service I am not sure when to stop writing to him at that address and wait until I see him to get his new address. I don't want the letters to get lost because he is not there anymore but I don't want to stop supporting him with daily letters while he is there either.

Comment by Andrewsmom on March 23, 2012 at 10:09am: I am sooooooo excited. Just two weeks from today, I will see my baby boy in his dress blues. When he left on 2/7, 4/6 seemed so far away. Thank goodness it's now close. Even though I have missed both phone calls, I have been receiving letters and he is doing great. The maturity he exhibits in his letter writing is completely mind blowing. And, I didn't know the Navy taught recruits how to spell. LOL!

Comment by Lala Ribbon Queen PIR Ribbons on March 23, 2012 at 6:57am: A mom in a different PIR group had already purchased round trip tickets from Southwest and with this new special she was able to change her tickets to less expensive ones and got a $100.00 credit to use on a flight in the future so be sure and check them out even if you already have tickets with them.
