Ok, where is everyone????
Good morning all!
I need to order one with two stars but I figured I should wait until my youngest, now 18, graduates in May and see if he joins like he says he is. Then when he gets out of bootcamp I will get one with 3 stars and hang it proudly.
This is a service flag:
The Blue Star represents any member of the family serving in the Armed Forces of the United States during any war or hostilities. They do not have to be stationed overseas or present were hostilities are taking place. Families "fly" them (the small ones are for your window and are the more traditional ones...there are some movies that have shown them and I think the website may mention them) to honor them. The number of stars represents each servicemember in your Family. If you get a lapel pin it is only authorized to have one star no matter how many servicemembers you have.
I have a one star that was given to me by my hubby's work and then I bought a two star when my son enlisted. Hubby's work also gave me a lapel pin.

Here is a history page from the website I listed below:
Thanks Lala. I looked at the older posts but can't find the link
I am not sure of the link. I know there used to be a link for free ones but that promotion has ended. There are several sites that have them to buy so I would do a search and find the best price for what you are looking for. The flag does have one blue star on it and they are placed in the front window of your home as long as you have an active duty Sailor (or other military member) who is serving our country during a time of war. Once you receive the "I'm a Sailor" call you can hang it in your window. They also have the blue star flag window decals available at the NEX.
Ok so who wants to hold my hand and walk this airhead through flag ordering. If I understand this correctly it is a blue flag with one star on it that you hang in the window in your house to show you have someone who is serving in the military? And on the site that was posted you can have your sailors name embroidered on it? Sorry just don't want to get the wrong thing. And yes I need the link again too. I know I know I'm sorry
Yay for phone calls, I hope you all get one very soon :-) It just makes your day, your night, your week and it makes you breath so much easier :-) I have my fingers crossed for all of you :-)
I got my mid way call! I got my mid way call! Go 3/113! WOOOO HOOOO no I'm not too excited lol
She is in Div 114 . I hope for all of you your call comes soon
