Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

A quick note here: Last Names of Recruits/Sailors are not allowed on this site. If it is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture.

Comment by Amac23 on March 2, 2012 at 3:26am: rmwjcpa- I came home to a letter. It was odd because it didn't come with the mail. It was attached to my front door, so maybe it was delivered to the wrong address.

My husband says the Division is doing well. They are adjusting as a team and catching a lot less heat. He said that they are supposed to be schedule for a call home tomorrow at 5pm, Great Lakes time.

Here's hoping we get to talk to our boys!!

Go to the bottom right hand corner of this page.

You will see a green dot in the corner. Click it.

A box will appear above it that has a check mark and says "Connected to chat". Click it.

The green dot will change to red. You will probably need to do that every time you sign into N4M's.

Also, if you are hearing a "beeping" that is the volume on chat.

To mute it:

Click the Volume icon next to the red/green dot box. The control should come up. Turn it down.

Comment by zStratMom on March 2, 2012 at 2:57am: Most often it's minor, so no. That's not a guarantee--it would depend on timing. I wouldn't start worrying--there's a boatload [ha ha ha] of germs and viruses the SRs pass around, and many have teeth pulled or minor injury that needs a bit of rest.

Comment by zStratMom on March 2, 2012 at 2:24am: Hi, rmwjcpa - SIQ is sick in quarters. So, for example, if a recruit is ill (or has had wisdom teeth pulled!) and can't train, medical will assign SIQ.

My husband would probably right me first- so don't feel bad- I don't think they got their letters out in time? At least that's what I am choosing to tell myself. I saw that they supposedly have calls tomorrow. I really hope so...I am banking a little bit too much on that right now...
