Hey all! Received my first letter today! It was very sweet. He said "being told how to talk, what to say, and what to do is growing and stretching me in new ways and I wouldn't have it any other way". However, like MichaelC'Mom it was pretty professional and business like. Where's my goofy husband?! Anyhow, it was just a total relief! Hoping for letters for all!
Thank you ladies!! I know it will get better, thank s for all the support. I am sooo greatfull for this web site. I dont know how in the world my mother made it when i left to go into bootcamp back in 87. I know he will get better and the letters will start being better.
MichaelC'sMom: It is going to get better! Promise!
MichaelC'sMom- I hear the first two letters are the worse, and by the third it turns around. Don't let it get you down! He will pull through...
YES! You are getting my hopes up for a letter. Maybe the greeting was satire?? :(
Got my letter today!!! He says shinning boots suck!! Not having fun. Having a rough time. I wish i could talk to himand tell him that everything is going to be ok. And what made it worse is he started it "to Whom it may concern"!! not hi mom or nothing. Please tell me its going to get better.
Hahaha. Love it! In some ways I think BT appeals to guys sense of adventure. They probably love it in a lot of ways.
Amac23. Here is an excerpt from my son's first letter, "I am having fun. I like the yelling and the marching." LOL. He's doing fine.
Looks like the letters are starting to trickle in. I am so excited today. Trying not to get my hopes up- but who am I kidding?
I was thinking maybe the ladies who are getting letters can share a bit- maybe how their SR is doing, any unexpected/ funny lines, etc? We can live vicariously through you...
Received my first letter yesterday! Hoping if you haven't gotten one today is your day!
