Comment
FTLW mentioned bringing their boxers - so they can have their own unders in A school? What else of a personal nature can they have? phone, laptop, clothes? i so appreciate your experience in all this!
Debbier- it looks like my comment didn't go through. Our SR's are in the same PIR and A school. What's his Ship/ Div?
I booked Residence Inn Waukegen after getting a few recommendations. Free buffet in the morning, and the shuttle to graduation is really easy and 6 bucks round trip :)
Thank you Lala I will :) The recruiter said he will either do the flags or the rifles :)
Well FTLW, you know it can be different with every division but I asked my Sailor and my son-in-law about it and they both said that they had a chance to buy one before the first call so I hope that holds true for most of them.
Thank you for clarifying that LaLa...I will add it the next time I post! ;-)
Anything on ship 3 Div 113?
If you can get one and send it then it wouldn't hurt. Most of them buy one before they get the first call but sometimes that first call could be a surprise call and they may not have the opportunity to buy a card.
nobody mentioned anything to us about sending SR's with a calling card to boot should I really buy one and send with my next letter??
SARGE has posted a change to his M & G:
They no longer have 2.00 beers and the times have changed from 5:30-8PM
(How the body of the text now reads on the Event)

They miss them more than you can imagine |
Calling Cards -If you did not send your SR with a Calling Card then please send one ASAP. They can purchase these at the NEX but it may be a couple of weeks before they are taken there (from their arrival) and they can't just go when they want too. I have heard a couple of stories of SR's on the phone with loved ones and they felt bad because others did not have Calling Cards when they finally got a call home! They usually cut their own call short to lend theirs to others!
Make sure it is activated (nowadays that is usually automatically done at the register) and has the MOST minutes you can find! So minutes get eaten up with the first use! If you can't find a large one buy a couple! Also, make a photocopy of it so you have the info and can reload it if need be.
I purchased a 600 or 700 minute one at Target for $20 on sale ($30 normal price). I hear Sam's Club has them and some have looked online for Virtual Pre-paid Phone "Cards" - Google or Yahoo search it. I know AT & T has them for as high as 1000 min for $40. 1000 min? Hmmm...16 plus hours?
