For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

A quick note here: Last Names of Recruits/Sailors are not allowed on this site. If it is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture.

Comment by FireTeamLeaderWife aka FTLW on February 21, 2012 at 3:26pm: Andrewsmom - I believe it is GL. I know a mom who asked Craig (Advisor on this site who is former) about it and her daughter went to "A" School at GL.

- Surface/Seaman (S-PACT)

- Aviation/Airman (A-PACT)

- Engineering/Fireman (E-PACT)

From what I could gather on the Undesignated group UNDES Seaman go to GL for "A" school and UNDES Airman go to Pensacola for "A" school...but don't quote me on that...LOL. It would make sense though as a lot go to P-Cola for Airman ratings. This is just from what I could research and also we all know how things change in the military! I could not find where the E-PACT go to "A" school.

Undesignated...What's Up With That?

I will post the link he provided for her about the PACT program. It is a Navy Recruiting Manual (public access). Your info is paragraph 010501 - 010504, EX 010501...starts on page 65-67. It does not talk about the "A" schools just info on the program. Little bit of extra info...thought I'd add if anyone else had recruits doing this.

Don't know too much about undesignated, but one recent mom said her son stayed in GL for A school that was only 4 weeks long...had leave for a couple of weeks at home after that...and is now in Japan. You may want to join the "Undesignated" group on this site. Probably lots of info over there.
