OPSEC, OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance. Please take the time
to read the OPSEC and Community Guidelines. A quick note here: Last Names of Recruits/Sailors are not allowed on this site. If it is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. Dear Group,

I invite you to start your Division Discussions up above in the Discussion Forum area. Please only ONE per Division.

How to add a Discussion - Go to the bottom left corner of the DF area (It's actually just above the comment box here.) and click "Add a Discussion".

Fill in the Title and any description you like.

For DIV discussion Titles a suggestion would be:

SHIP ##/ DIV ###

Simple as that! Then the other members from your div can reply and you can connect up even closer there.

Remember that you are ALL part of this TG though and to stay on the main pages to talk here too! Plus, we veteran moms mostly stay on the main pages of the groups. There are 5-7...(about 50+ Divisiopns)... PIR groups running at one time and so we do not get to the DF's as much. We do check them as often as we can...OPSEC rules apply there also.

Bob's mom - There are no tickets persay...rather their is an Access list.

On the Form letter that your Recruit sent home there is a place for the Access List with four lines. He would have listed four names there. Don't be alarmed if they write, "Pop, Mom, Rover..." as they will be updating this list about two weeks before PIR. They will need to write in the legal name that matches the guests ID. Please write your recruit to coordinate the names. These four on the list have guaranteed entry to PIR.

Now...in addition you may bring extra guests. Usually they will have to wait in the Visitors Center until 8:45. Then room permitting...they will be allowed in.

With only seven divisions...I am sure they will gain entry...in fact they might not even make them wait! Just giving the "facts" though!

From RTC Website FAQ's:

Q.
How many guests per recruit are allowed to attend Pass-In-Review?
A.
Recruits are permitted to place up to four names on the access list.  Please coordinate with your Recruit as only Recruits may place names on the list.  RTC can neither change these names nor release the names of those on the list.  Children age 12 and younger do not need to be listed on the access list and will not count toward the maximum number of guests.  Active Duty and Retired military personnel will not count toward the maximum number of guests and do not need to be listed on the access list, but must present a valid Active Duty/Retired military ID card.  The four guests on the access list will be admitted into the ceremonial drill hall first. Additional guests not on the access list will have to wait inside the Visitor Center until after the start of the ceremony at which time they will be allowed into the ceremonial hall if additional seating is available as space permits. No additional seating can be guaranteed.  All guests 18 years and older, must present valid government issued photo identification (driver’s license, state ID card, passport, military ID card). Guests 17 years or younger who do not possess one the items listed above must present one of the following: school ID card,  driver’s permit, copy of their birth certificate or social security card.  PLEASE DO NOT CALL FOR ADDITIONAL SEATS.

Q.

When will I receive tickets/passes to graduation?
A.
There are no actual tickets or passes. Recruits list the names of up to four guests that will be included on the access list. Recruits cannot obtain additional “tickets” from other recruits.

Comment by Bob's mom on February 20, 2012 at 8:29pm

To you seasoned moms - is there any way a recruit can obtain an extra ticket for PIR from someone whose family may not be able to make it?

shermb:  Pensacola sailors usually fly out on Saturday, but again...that is not written in stone!  So hope you can stay until Sunday just in case!

Hi, all. Just stopping in to introduce myself. I'm a mom of two sailors who have gone through BC in the past year. I'm spending more time right now with a couple groups who are closer to PIR, but will begin checking in here, too. Please feel free to connect and / or ask questions. Meanwhile, I know other volunteer veteran moms are taking good care of you!! ENJOY the journey--this is an experience for both You and your Sailor, and something you'll never forget. ;-)
