Good Morning. 46 more days! Who's counting anyway?
Good morning all!
Good Afternoon Dear Group!
I have added a direct link to a Page that has the lonks to the Meet and Greets on the Events pages. It is under the one for RTC website under the Weather Widget.
There are three! I know...another thing to decide about...try not to stress about it...by the end of BC you will all "know" each other a bit more and will make those decisions!
Here's a quick rundown of the Meet and Greets:
Ramada:
6-8 pm at the Ramada.
Finger foods – Chips and salsa, veggies and dip, egg rolls, meatballs, maybe another and it could change. (This is what they had when I went. Sarge was not doing a Meet and Greet then)
Bar – or you can bring in your own soft drink or water. Those staying at the Ramada get a voucher for to free drinks.
Hostess provides a name tag and will come in and greet everyone and ask if anyone would like to speak.
Sarge:
5-10 pm at the Sundance Saloon.
FREE transportation from Springhill Suites, Marriot Courtyard, Holiday Inn Express, Residence Inn, Candlewood Suites and Crossland. All other local hotels for a modest fee.
Guest Speaker from the Base (when available) to provide info on where to eat, things to do, how to save $$.
FREE food starting at 7 PM….they also have a menu if you want to order something.
Sarge has lived in the area for over 30 years and knows it well.
Sarge has arranged with his friend Nick at Trattoria-Pomigliano in Libertyville for a FREE meal – ANYTHING they want – for your Sailor.
There is a DJ.
Plus, Sarge goes above and beyond the “call of duty” to help Sailors and their families. (He is the “go to” guy for Taxi (shuttle) service. Prices are great and again does more than he has too!)
Flanagan’s:
5-9 PM at Flanagan’s.
Was the original Meet and Greet for Navy 4 Moms years ago, and hoping to continue the tradition for years to come.
Have set up a room specifically for the meet and greet.
Free appetizer buffet and music.
They are also a full service restaurant.
Karaoke starting at 8:30pm
You will also receive a $10 gift certificate for your graduate to have a meal of their choice (steaks and seafood included) after graduation. They are allowing the parents to use their sailors $10 gift certificate even on Thursday (we are more than happy to give them another one for Friday after graduation). You can receive the gift certificate at the restaurant at the Meet & Greet or ask your hotel receptionist for one (Red Carpet Inn, Day's Inn, Sleep Inn, Navy Lodge, Great Lakes Motel, and participating Holiday Inn, Marriott, Residence Inn in the Great Lakes, North Chicago and Waukegan area).
They are located 2 minute drive from the Navy base and in walking distance of Red Carpet Inn, Day's Inn, Great Lakes Motel, and Sleep Inn and a quick 5 minute drive from Fountain Square (Waukegan) hotels.
ALL events are open to everyone.
Indymom we planned on leaving at 5 am as well when we went but at 11:30 pm the night before when I finally had the car all packed I was way to hyped up and excited to sleep so we left at Midnight, and I had been up since 6 am, what a long trip that was but I didn't care I was just so excited to get there lol.
@ indymom, we just booked our rooms at the Quality Inn!! Now i am feeling better!!
Because i know its going to come faster!! I hope!!!
So looking forward to meeting all the moms!!!!
AndrewsMom: There are no "tickets" persay. They go by the names on the form letter list (which your SR updates a week or two before PIR). Extras just about always get in...and with a small group like this, no issues. Just make sure they have proper ID and arrive early! The most that will happen is that they may have to wait until all on the lists are seated, but I doubt that will even happen ....they probably can enter with your group.
With only 7 divisions graduating on 4/6, I'm guessing there will be plenty of room for extra guests. Do any of the veteran moms know how the extra ticketing works? I would need to be assured of getting additional tickets before incurring travel expenses.
47 days!
We got a call from our son yesterday but weren't home to answer. He left a message so staying close to home this weekend. MichaelCsMom, and everyone else, hope you all hear from your SBs soon!
Hope everyone has a good day! Had a bad yesterday, kept thinking about my son, missing him soo much. hope he is doing good. i know the saying no new is good news but dang i need some news.
its rainy and cold here to day. we have chance of flooding, guess i wont be going anywhere unless i have to. its also our23 wedding anniversary. thinking about going out to eat, but we always have taken the kids, now we are short one. oh well.
