For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

A quick note here: Last Names of Recruits/Sailors are not allowed on this site. If it is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture.

Comment by Lala Ribbon Queen PIR Ribbons on February 17, 2012 at 9:45pm: Check Southwest for airfare to Milwaukee, they have no change fee if you have to change the dates and they have free checked bag. If you have to change the date you only pay the difference in the ticket and not loose the money you paid and have to buy another ticket. Also depending on deals they are having, they often offer specials to Chicago from specific cities for $69 to $89 for one way which is a very good deal. I know that had a commercial recently for $69 from Greenville SC or Orlando to Chicago. It was offered at other locations as well but I can't remember where those were.

My son, Brian, is SHIP 09 DIV 112. Anyone else with same? We live in NE iowa so not too far from GL. Because I work today I won't be able to check back until after 6:30 this evening. Hope everyone has a great day.
