I would like to put a plug in for Residence Inn Waukegan. We really enjoyed our stay there. They have studios and 2 bdrm 2 bth for larger groups. Full kitchens in all. PIR shuttle, free buffet breakfast, quiet area near Sarge's MeetNGreet. About 4 miles from base. PET FRIENDLY for those driving wanting to bring pets to reunite with their new sailors!
God Morning Ladies!!1 & more Friday and we get to see our Sailors!!!! Hope everyone has a Great Day!!
@ Indymom: hopeyou feel better!!
Has anyone got their hotel rooms yet? I trying to get our but right now i dont know if hubby gets to come or i am going to take my mom. We will be driving up from Louisiana most likely on the early morning on the 5th. its a 13 hour drive.
Should have said "He/she will have to open this..." below. Sorry about that!
indymom: He will LOVE receiving all of those letters. Mail is like "Christmas morning" for them. My son begged me to keep writing when he was there, and to get anyone else who wanted to write too. I actually gave his address to a couple of his former teachers and they were kind enough to write to him...meant alot to him. So don't be shy...anyone who has had an important place in your SR's life...ask if they would be interested in writing a letter of encouragement. Many would love to do this.
Also, for any teachers out there, the SRs LOVE to get letters from the classes of kids! So please consider doing this. You can mail the letters in a manilla envelope to your SR to pass out. He will have to open this in front of the RDCs, but that isn't a problem. The SRs love it and many will write back (make sure that the teacher has the kids put on the school's return address).
@Michaelc'sMom, I'm doing okay, i think i've been running myself ragged the past couple of days,,doctor appointments today for the youngest an for me,,been too busy taking care of the guys that i have gotten a lil under the weather too,,I think i have mailed about 15 letters now,,but some of those were from lil brother and grandma too,,he is sure gonna get overloaded on them,,and i also sent paper and envelopes,,i didnt send stamps bc he already had some in his wallet,,and thinking im getting another phone card to send too,,just in case they can call home and if he wants to share with someone else so they can call too,,well time t get my day started,,take care
That should do the trick MichaelC'sMom :-)
@ indymom, I was wondering if you were ok. I feel for you having a sick child and husband at the same time. Especailly the grown man they are the worst. i haven't heard anything from michael yet. i have mailed about 6 letters since i have gotten the address. one enevelope was blank pages, enevelopes(self address) with stamps and but a note in there Hint Hint write me! Love mom. so i am sure he will love that one. take care ttyl
