Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

N4M's Community Guidelines

OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Please don't think im weird, I deal with sadness by music. What do you guys think of the lyrics to this song?

I RAISED HIM WITH A LOVE THAT’S GREAT. TRUSTING YOU ALL THE WAY. GIVING THANKS FOR EACH AND EVERYDAY. AND AS HE GREW I KNEW HE’D BE OK. NEVER THOUGHT HE GO AWAY TO PROUDLY SERVE THE AMERICAN WAY. ONLY SEEMS LIKE YESTERDAY,.... THEN I BOW MY HEAD AND PRAY. PLEASE GOD KEEP MY SAILOR SAFE.

***CHORUS***

***I GET DOWN ON MY KNEES AND PRAY.

GUIDE HIM WITH YOUR GRACE.

KEEP A SMILE UPON HIS FACE.

AND IN THE DARKEST OF ALL DAYS,

HELP HIM TO BE BRAVE.

I KNOW YOUR LOVE FOR HIM IS GRAND HOLD HIM TIGHT AND TAKE HIM BY HIS HAND.

AND WHILE MY SAILOR IS AWAY, PLEASE GOD KEEP MY SAILOR SAFE. ****

AS I WATCHED HIM WALK AWAY, GOODBYE’S ARE ALWAYS HARD TO SAY. WHEN WILL HE BE COMING HOME TO STAY? ONLY TEARS LEFT IN HIS PLACE. I LY AWAKE AND WORRY EVERY NIGHT, LONGING FOR THE DAY I CAN HOLD HIM TIGHT. AS I COUNT THE DAYS GO BY, AND LEARN THE NEW MILITARY WAY OF LIFE. I SOFTLY BOW MY HEAD AND PRAY, PLEASE GOD KEEP MY SAILOR SAFE.

***CHORUS***

I SURRENDER HIM TO YOU, TO DO WHAT ONLY YOU CAN DO. IM NOT THERE TO LEAD HIS WAY. I BEGGING YOU TO TAKE MY PLACE. PLEASE GIVE HIM COURAGE, COMFORT AND STRENGTH AS HE DEFENDS THE USA. ALWAYS LIGHT HIS WAY AND AT THE END OF EVERYDAY, MAY HE GET DOWN ON HIS KNEES AND PRAY. PLEASE GOD KEEP MY SAILOR SAFE.

***CHORUS***

UNTIL MY TIME ON EARTH IS THRU, SWEET SON IM ALWAYS THERE WITH YOU. IN YOUR HEART IS WHERE I’LL STAY. DISTANCE CAN NOT TAKE THAT AWAY. SO I PROMISE THIS TOO, I WILL ALWAYS LOVE AND TREASURE YOU. BECAUSE OF HIS AMAZING GRACE. PLEASE GOD KEEP MY SAILOR SAFE.

ChristophersMom: Omg…I know, I'm going to be a mess. Trying to stay seated thru his graduation is going to be tough. My husband better bring restraints to tie me to the chair…your are going to see a crazy lady running thru their march, you can laugh and say, "hey i know her" or maybe not. lol  But did you notice that hardly anyone was crying? i'm going to embarrass myself!

@StacyLHR (14/136)  My, my, that IS a good idea.  Why didn't I think of that?  You must have been through this before...or you are very clever.

@CatMom509 the Lord is near! I pray that Sam is calling out to him from the RTC.  :)    "Call to me and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known." Jer 33:3

@ Rhonda, I typed up my address (had just moved) and my telephone number, put a motivational thing on the other side - shrunk it to a business card size then laminated and put it in his wallet!  Gave him no excuses  :-)  Other than him focusing on BC, of course  :)

@christophersMom  I am writing every other day and his girlfriend is writing every every other day on the other days.  Hopefully this works out to him getting a letter everyday.  I sure hope I get a phone call soon.  He has only called his gf cause he has her phone number memorized.  lol   He did promise to memorize mine….we shall see.

Another Friday down!  Sometimes I feel like the counter on this page is my friend…other times it seems to be my enemy.  :)

Good morning @diannep and everyone!

good morning everyone...

well another Friday down.. We've got this!!

I hope everyone has a wonderful day:-)

They get mail M-F...but can only mail out letters on Mondays.  Yes, they love mail!  SO it is nice to try and write everyday if possible.  Sometimes, of course, the letters will not arrive each day, but rather maybe 2 or 3 at once, but nothing you can do about that!  Be sure to keep the letters light and funny!  No heavy stuff during bootcamp.  They need to focus!

Good Morning!
