N4M's Community Guidelines

OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

I couldn't find anything about food being a problem in carry-ons!  I looked it up because I wasn't sure.  You *shouldn't* have any issues bringing cookies :)  Just liquids.  I just got confused because I have to bring some liquids for the toddler for the flight, so I'm getting all the rules mixed up lol!

The cookies and candy should be fine. I put 2 dozen cookies in my bag from Boston to Denver and they didn't even give them a second look. It's really the liquids that they get all crazy about. I work at Denver International Airport and have never had a problem traveling with snacks, candy, cookies.

Oh No I was going to make cookies for my husband will that be a problem at the airport? I thought it was just liquids that are an issue? Anyone else know anything about this? He asked me to bring cookies, I really wanted to do that for him.

Haha thanks Aaronsmom!  She needs to nap some time so hopefully that should give us some alone time.  Poor guy needs it lol!

I am bringing him some candy!  He loves the Reese's holiday eggs, so I got him a bunch of those plus kit kats.  Hopefully I can get them through the airport.  They're all still packaged so I don't see it being a problem.

Cammy,

Of course, don't forget his cell phone and cell phone charger!  Also, any favorite treats--cookies or brownies that you bake??  There is a Walmart Supercenter with a grocery store in Waukegan right next to the Springhill Suites so you can get any stuff for hotel room.

Prayers Vujmac!

Ry-mom, just saw your response about having 2 out of the 3 - how cool would it have been if your son was "Tex" (or that is how my son refers to him).

A blessed Good Morning to all!
