N4M's Community Guidelines

OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Navy89 didn't know about the special lunch thing. Do you know who the visitors were? Just curious. My son said they have aced all their tests, and this is an awesome group of guys. He always says the RDCs are hard but fair and they are really cool about things.

Navymom315 your son and mine both! I send questionnaires for him to answer so I actually get information. When he writes on his own I get 3 short paragraphs! (Not complaining about that but the questionnaires give me more! Haha)

Thanks for the update Navy89.  My son is in that division too and never really talks about what is going on there.  He is a man of few words.   Tomorrow is letter day for me.

Happy Birthday Betsy.

Letter day! Hooray! 04/809 doing well.  Passed their inspections well. More inspections to come. Special lunch with some visitors. Like ReidsMomKathy's son said "Happy RDC, happy recruits." Nice. Hope you all get to hear from your SR's soon. 15 days...wow!

Hi everyone, got a letter today from my son in 13/147.  Looks like their personal, zone, weapons and marching inspections went very well, so did simulated and range firing and a big test.  Apparently their RDC is very happy and as my son said, "Happy RDC, happy recruits."  He sounded really upbeat and excited and looking forward to graduation.  Hope everyone else gets letters today or tomorrow!

Hi Friends!

This scripture is so appropriate for the Battlestations that your SRs will be going through soon.  Perhaps you can share with your SR in a letter now.

             "Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name;

              you are mine.  When you pass through the waters, I will be with you;

              and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you.

              When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames

              will not set you ablaze.  For I am the Lord, your God, the Holy One

              of Israel, your Savior..."

                                                                                     Isaiah 43:1b-3a
