Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Winski: One day at a time....sorry today has been so challenging and especially re: your sweet little dog....sure hoping you have a good amount of time with the little one! Tomorrow is a new day! Celebrate the moment and try not to dread the future! Someone taught me not to miss the joy of today worrying about things in the future that may not even happen....I'm trying! :-)
NavyMom: I think the last name is fine, but message Lala since she can tell you for sure! Some wear the ribbons to the MeetandGreets also.
I have question for the veteran moms. I want to order a ribbon for my sons PIR. Should I put his last name on the ribbon or his first. He is special ops but I figured we are only wearing the ribbon at the PIR it isnt like we will be wearing it outside. Or do the parents wear it after graduation outside...? So confused.
Ladies,
I posted my PIR experience in March under "Pertinent PIR Tips" up above in the Discussions section. Check it out when you get a chance!
Winski,
Love your pooch every single day (I know you do it anyway!) At least he's got some time... Just let your daughter rest that's the best thing for getting over a flu (is it Easter vacation for her?) I have an 11 year old daughter on Easter vacation now! Where's your lens re-wetting solution!! Tomorrow will definitely be great with mail from your SR~~
Winski, so sorry you're having a bad day... like Ohwhere said, letter day is coming soon and just 16 more days until PIR! I had the same thought this morning about our PIR date creeping closer and closer to the bottom!! Hang in there and keep posting if you need pick-me-ups - we all understand :-)
I'm sorry about your dog Winski :-( Tomorrow will be a better day. 16 days from now will be an amazing day. Hang in there.
Friends,
"I in them and You in Me.
May they be brought to complete unity
to let the world know that You sent Me
and have loved them even as You have loved Me."
