~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Thank you Sammy!! Just a mom thing I'm so anxious, I'm praying for them all can't wait to see him!!
Comment by Sammy on April 13, 2014 at 1:25pm

Not all the divisions have finished Battle Stations yet Kimberly so there should be more calls going out this week. Remember, no news is good news so unless you hear otherwise assume he is still on track.

5 days til graduation and I hang got my I'm a sailor call we leave tues morn?? Is he ok??
Comment by diannep on April 13, 2014 at 10:28am

NavyMom has the correct info below about being able to leave the base....must phase up for that....so that is why I think the only possibility would be possibly "on base" visitation ....maybe!

Comment by diannep on April 13, 2014 at 10:27am

Morganna:  Don't think so, but ask that question on your A School group on this site.  Those ladies will know.  It may be possible the you could visit with your sailor ON the base, but not sure about that for each A School....so best to ask on your specific A School group.

Make sure to take ID to the airports so you can get airlines gate passes to wait at the gate with your sailor until departure!

Good Morning!

I know people have talked about decorating the hotel room door for our new sailors. But what kind of stuff do they do? Just a poster, streamers? Any advice?? Thanks! I know Friday is Good Friday but I think for all of us in this group it is going to be a GREAT Friday!!!!
Comment by NavyMom93 on April 13, 2014 at 8:58am

BrittBratt, liberty is just a few hours after graduation.  Like Morganna said you can go to the airport and wait with them for some bonus time.  That's what we're planning to do!

Comment by NavyMom93 on April 13, 2014 at 8:56am

Paige, they have to "Phase up" when they get to A School, meaning at first they can't leave the base, they can't wear civilian clothes, that kind of thing.  By the time they complete Phase 3, I think they can even leave the base, but not beyond 300 miles, something like that.  Here is a link.  I hope it works!  Navy School Student Policies and Restrictions.

I was thinking about that myself.... my Fiance will be going to Meridian Mississippi for A School. How long is liberty after the graduation?
Comment by Paige_DIV923 on April 13, 2014 at 8:37am
Morganna- Thank you! But I was more concerned about at his A school location after check in at Pensacola on Sat, April 19, 2014? When he gets there the other sailors will be on weekend Liberty will that apply to him as well?
