Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!
Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!
Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Still have to wait another 4 days. Hope they have fun over the weekend at the Captains Cup. Looking forward to Chicago and meeting a lot of you at Sarge's Meet and Greet or Graduation.
Can anyone tell me about video of graduation and how to order it. Also about the pictures. I haven't received any in the mail and not sure if he ordered anything. Don't want to spend a long time at NEX after graduation. Any suggestions?

Got my call today too! He also was able to call back later and we talked for about an hour! He was really proud of how his division pulled together as a team! He said he was promoted to E-2!

I got one and he was able to call about a half an our later for a nice, long talk. He was very proud of his division 146:)

MissMary: After Bootcamp, or even while they are still in Bootcamp, join your A School group on this site. There is really nothing quite like the PIR groups as far as activity, but there is info and comraderie on the school groups as well as the duty station groups. You can also join the group that reflects your sailor's "job" in the Navy....and once they reach their duty station, join that group as well!

My daughter is a Sailor!!! She called!!! I am beyond overjoyed and so PROUD!!!! Amazing feeling! thank all of you ladies for being a part of this journey with me!!!!! to all of you Congratulations tooo!!!!!!! Much love to all of our US Navy Sailors!!!!
