Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

As I read this email, I truly had to fights tears back.
It's been such an emotional ride, and it's been this way long before he left to go to boot camp. And now we are so close to the end of it, I am not sure how I will hold myself together!
The veterans moms, have been such a resource of strength and courage, guiding us through this process and quieting our fears.
And now that we are on the threshold of graduation, where do we go from here? Is there a group that is out there, that moves us with our Sailors! Like, the ship they are deployed to? I understand that the ship's location is often classified... But how do we communicate with our Sailors, and know of their well being?
Again...thanks to all of you who do such an awesome job supporting all of us out here,

Correct, Angelina. GL A School students move over there shortly after PIR....takes a few hours...then they call you for Liberty until later that night. They have Daytime Liberty on Fri, Sat, and Sun. They must return to base each night.

Good Day to all!! and HAPPY BIRTHDAY to RedneckHippie's SR!!! My Brother is in that same DIV 148.And his birthday is on WED 4/16 just two days before Graduation. Cool Ha. Ellen0502 Thank You for all your knowledge, and help. My Brother is staying in GL for his A school. So first they have to report to the A school then they go on liberty? Did I understand correctly?
