Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!
Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!
Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

We are Getting Close, I am so excited... My son was more worried about Hell Week & Passing and Wish I could hear from him to see how it went. 11 more days and I am off to Chicago to see my Boy!

Hi Mic, I live in the state of Washington, almost the same distance as you...I plan on sending out my last letter next Saturday. I too feel the same way you do abou making sure he gets all my letters from BC.
Can't wait to see him!

Hello all! Getting close yay!! When should we stop sending letters? I live in California and it takes my letters a few days to actually get to him. Not exactly sure how long they've been taking though. I don't want to send any then they get processed after he has graduated. Thanks!!! :)

Dianne, if they don't go on Thursday night, and Captain's Cup is on Saturday the 12th, then they could go during the week, starting Monday the 14th? Could they go anytime from the 14th on?

Ok, Ladies, this is the week that this PIR group will start BattleStations! Some divisions will go Thurs night with calls on Fri after 2 pm Central. We are not allowed to specifically post the divisions going on a specific night, but can private message the info. If anyone has info on 147/148 and 923, can you friend request/private message it to me please? I have the info for 143/144 and 145/146, emailed to me by a mom on here. Remember, there are no BattleStations on Fri/Sat nights, and lately not Sunday nights either (although they can go on that night).
Sat. morning, they will have Captains Cup, a fun athletic competition, for all divisions in this PIR group. The SRs/sailors enjoy that!
