OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Good Morning All!

Yes, Leach, I can assure you that those who go to Sarge's MeetandGreet will not be disappointed!  Kids are welcome too (the saloon is closed to the public)...he gives hints re: PIR also.

One of them is this:  For those driving to PIR, here is something to save you time.  On Buckley Rd, the main drag by RTC, stay to the left....you will see the line of cars waiting to get into RTC on your right.  Bypass RTC and turn around when you can (near train station).  Head back towards RTC from the opposite direction.  It is then an easy, no-wait turn into RTC!  We have had several ladies report back after PIR that this was the best hint they received!

My son is ship 3 div 148. Hope to see you there. Looking so forward to going to Chocago. Never been there. Drove through there when my SR was about 10 on our way to Mt Rushmore I think. When the kids were little, and we lived in NY, we took a lot of trips out west.

@The Dog Pack...I am from So Cal! The earthquakes weren't too bad here in Ventura County. Still a little worry some :) My boyfriend will be staying in Great Lakes for A school so I am sure your brother and my boyfriend know each other! Happy to meet you.

Liz - what ship and division is your SR? I really am not sure how many are in the same as my SR, S14, Div145.

I will also be staying at NavyLodge and had planned on going to Sarge's. From what diannep says, seems more informational.

Looking forward to meeting lots of proud family members!

Thanks that's good to know. I'm thinking it's far away from the navy lodge though. I'll have to talk my husband about that.

Liz:  The best MeetandGreet, with the most info and most people, will be Sarge's MeetandGreet.  He has lots of info for you all.  Ramada has one as well, which is really just a MeetandGreet for families....not the same info that you will get at Sarge's.

It looks like there are 2 meet and greets, one at Flanagan's and one in Waukegan.  I'm thinking we will probably go to the one closest. We are staying at the Navy Lodge.  Hope to meet a bunch of you that I have been reading posts about. Hope my son has made some good friends with some of your sons and daughters.
