Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

So sorry I was MIA today. My sailors have been home on leave and today was my last day with them. I took my daughter and grand baby shopping today and to lunch and then more shopping. We were gonna get pedicures but ran out of time lol. I sure am going to miss them. This is the latest pic of them :)

Hi Leach,

If this group wants to start a Basket Project to help Sarge out, someone should contact Sarge at 847-212-0246 or JohnSpadaro@att.net .  Then a Discussion for a Basket Project is started in the Discussion Forum for any ladies who want to pop in and participate, which is totally voluntary.  Baskets/bags/containers with state themed items or food items or bath items or really, anything are brought into the Meet & Greet, then a container for raffle tickets is put in front of each.  The tickets are sold at the Meet & Greet and the winner is drawn from each container.  (Ask Sarge if there are any leftover raffle tickets from before or usually someone in the group can get a roll donated.  They are sold at party and craft stores too, I think).  It is great fun and helps Sarge and his sweet wife who put on these Meet & Greets weekly to get really helpful information out to the Navy families regarding PIR weekend~~

Anita, I am assuming your son is staying in GL for A School? If that is the case you will have approx and hour with him immediately after PIR, before he has to report back to his ship to pack and move over to the TSC side. This process will take several hours.

He will call you when he is ready to leave for liberty on Friday. Answer every phone call because this call can come from any area code. Sometime the Sailors who are already in school allow the new sailors to use their cell phones. This call can come anytime after 2pm, but generally sometime between 3pm or 4pm. He will have liberty until approx 10pm, but he cannot be late getting back to his ship. Get him back early enough to walk to his ship as you may not be allowed to drive him.

On Sat and Sunday he will have liberty from approx 6am to 10pm, again he cannot be late returning.

He can take any personal items, cell phone, laptop etc. back with him on Friday evening.

I can't wait to spend some quaality time with my son diannep! When will he get moved into his new quarters at A School? I know we can bring him personal items when we visit but we have to leave on Sunday so will he be able to keep it with him or will we have to take it home with us and mail it back up to him?

Mine hasn't said how long he will be in Florida...he is a CNT, unless something has changed over the last few weeks:)  Our family has planned the a summer vacation in the hopes that he may have some down time in July:)
