Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Hey y'all.  My son is in 148 too and no call for the past two weeks and no letters either.  I'm sure he's doing great but I would love to hear from him.

Thanks @sammJ101 for lighting the candle for our division! It is truly appreciated. It's been two weeks since I have heard from my SailorSon. I appreciate the saying that says "no news is good news" right now I guess we have to live our lives by that saying.
I look forward to the day when (hopefully) we all get that call "I am a Sailor". For only then will I know it's all been worth it! Thanks again Sammy, your words brought comfort to me today!

I am hoping that the mail, for once, doesn't arrive to my recruit until after this week.  One of his friend's passed away last week.  Though I told my other boys that we were not going to tell our recruit until graduation, I didn't expect my husband to be the blabbermouth and send him the info in a letter.  I'm so hoping that this doesn't knock him off his game:(

I went to Church today and lit a couple candles for my husband and his fellow recruits. I definitely got a little teary eyed, not sure why I'm extra emotional today but hopefully the prayers will help them make it through the next few weeks until graduation. Hope everyone is having a wonderful Sunday!
