Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Hello to all moms with a son/daughter on ship 13 Division 143. My son called me last Saturday and said that alot of the recruits were SIQ. He sounded congested himself, but other than that he sounded so good! I was shocked to hear from him so soon. When he called the night of arrival, he said he'd call 'in about four weeks'. Has anyone else had a phone call? I have not received any mail yet, however.

Recruit Chief Petty Officer. That is the lead recruit in the division. He is the recruit in charge when the RDC's are not around. He leads the recruits during all inspections and is in front of the division while marching. It is alot of responsibility. The division can go thru 3 - 5 RPOC's while in bootcamp.

My baby called!! He is in Div 923! He is the RPOC!!!!!!

We are son the phone with our son right now!! He's Ship 02 Div 923. Our first call from him. We are so happy to hear from him. He is doing well, and we are so proud!!

I received a letter from my son this Friday (Ship 14 Div 145) and also got another call last night from him. he sounded great and said he was doing well and had met some cool guys and that he had made Athletic petty officer of his Div....days og by slow but the weeks are flying he asid. I had missed my first call from him, thankfully he called right back and I have kept my phone with me on loud ringer since that day!! Hope you all have a great Weekend! .
