~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Hi Lisa.  My son is in Pensacola as well, with a birthday on May 2!  He is in a holding baracks waiting for class to start.  He says that he does have a lot of new freedom.  He also mentioned that there is no air conditioning here, so is glad that he is there in the spring and should be on his way to the regular baracks by summer.

How is everyone doing?  One week down in Pensacola and my son sounds like he's doing okay. He said he's finding it somewhat awkward having as much freedom as they do.  He thinks classes may start soon but we know the norm at this point, and nothing is certain. He's been running and enjoying the nice weather and exploring the base.  His birthday is this coming Thursday May 1st!  Sending out a box tomorrow with some of his favorite snacks and a few Visa gift cards to purchase whatever he wants at the NEX.  He said he will be in Pensacola from 3 to 8 months..that's quite a span....talk about uncertainty!  Hoping that you and yours are doing well too :)

Hi Angelina. Glad to hear you made it back to sunny California safe and sound. Next time I go over to the west coast, we must go have an In & Out burger!

I must say that it is nice to get texts and phone calls from my Sailor. She says she is well and has enjoyed meeting new Sailors everyday.

I logged on to watch Livestream of the PIR this morning...gave me goosebumps and I shed some tears all over again to see all the new Sailors. Congratulations to them and their families as they celebrate this great accomplishment! HOOYAH!!

God Bless America!

It makes me feel sane that I was not the only one that sat and stared at my Sailor son. He talked non stop and I stared non stop. He is so confident, proud and happy!

lvall3 - Hi! It was me and Angelina and the Doggies that met you in line. I would have loved to meet BrittBratt and SpencersMom, Lisa, and many others from here but at least we have this place to come to.

Thanks ladies for sharing your stories...brought happy tears to my eyes...we are all writing about this new chapter in our lives and our Sailors will have a great story of their own to tell their kids and generations to come!

I tried to record when they came in but that is when I lost it...i was shaking with excitement and looking for my daughter. As soon as I saw her, my eyes were glued to her and I kept wiping away the tears. OMgeee...unforgettable!!

The shear happiness on everyone's faces and the pride that was felt in the room...indescribable!

No doubt that our Sailors are different than they were before BC...like i told my daughter thruout BC, she is a diamond that is being polished and when all is said and done, she is going to shine so bright, and rightfully so! They all shined so bright that day of PIR!

Since we are from Chicagoland, we picked our daughter up on Easter Sunday and attended our church service...it all came over me, the many Sundays before that I would sit at church and pray for her during BC and now, here she was, in her Navy uniform sitting next to me and I thanked God for that!

BrittBratt - awww!! that was so sweet of your man to say that to you! Girl, I know you two are going to look amazing on your wedding day!

Leaving this group now.....blessings to your sailors in their Navy futures!

BrittBratt:  Aren't people THE BEST?  I love reading stories like yours!  I remember eating at Cracker Barrel up there after my son's PIR.  The female server thanked my son for his service....it just tickled him!  That continued at the airport for all of them....and they even applauded at the gate when the sailors were called to board the plane!  So wonderful when someone pays for any of our military and you know what?  You made the man's day but letting him do it!  I know he is so proud of your fiance serving his country!  You sound like you have a very special sailor there....thanks for sharing this!  And blessings to both of you in your future!
