Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

40inthebox: Moving to a new division? Hmmm....that is kind of unusual. Sometimes they will get asmoed (setback) and will join another PIR group/division, but I haven't seen it where they change divisions within a PIR group. Keep us posted!

I'm not sure what you mean by your last comment, AndrewB/Mom, but it sounds like you will have a car and want to know if you can drive your sailor back to base yourself? And, yes, you can do that.

My son called too and said they moved as well to ship 9 (JFK I think) but didn't have new address. Any idea how to find out the address? He did say a letter was mailed out with the change but don't know when it will arrive.

I got a call just now. Only 2 minutes because he wanted to call his girlfriend since he has not talked to her yet. He mentioned moving to a new division but did not say which one. He is currently div 155. Sounded in good spirits!

LOL Ryansmum! Try packing your entire house one-handed!!! Everytime I put it down, I would lose it and panic until I found it. Just hanging on to it now!!

Thanks for info should I make reservation now for pu at 6:30am on that friday and let him know that I need it going back with my SR? And can we just drop him back by car?
