Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Wondering if anyone uses flameless candles and if so, have you found a blue one? I'm still looking for one and Imwould rather use the flameless and just keep it lit. Thanks

Hello everyone..lets do the daily check list:
Cell phones charged and sitting no further than 6 inches from your hand? (check)
Tennis shoes tied tight (to chase down the mail carrier before they get to your box)? Check
Ink cartridges and printer loaded with paper for letters? (check)
Envelopes pre addressed so as not to slow down the mailing process? (check)
Prayers being said unceasingly for health, welfare, comfort and peace? (check)
Okay if you answered yes to all..you are ready for the day :)

I just got a letter from my son and I know I cant put the last names in this message but is there a mom at there that son is in ship 14 div. 151,? He has made friends with these two guys. I dont know if I could put the first letter of each last name on here?

Not yet, Tinkerbell. But you can get "general info" about it by looking at one of his earlier PIR groups to the right of this page, under EVENTS. You just can't RSVP until he posts this specific group. FTLW is good about posting a MeetandGreet discussion above which will be updated with his link when he activates this group.
