Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

He Called!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Shiip 02 DIV 923. He says the whole division was calling home so man your phones. He sounds really good, has had his wisdom teeth pulled and was swollen for a couple of days but he's fine. Food is ok., has the top bunk he likes his bunk mate. Today was the first Sunday they were allowed to write letters so we should be getting those soon!

I got a call too!!! So good to hear my recruits voice!! Sounds like the 923 is doing great as a team. I can not wait until 4/19 iit is going to be amazing !! My SR said they were able to write letters today so hopefully we will get mail next week. Yeah!

Just got a call from my son in P'cola, "our" 923 called & they got to talk for half an hour! Sounds like things are going pretty great for her. *happy dance*

Bangie: Calls are very random and are different from division to division. Just have the phone handy at all times...even in the bathroom and when getting the mail because you never know when a call may come!
UBUsMom: Very normal for the divisions at this point to still be having a hard time pulling together...but they will get there! You will see this at PIR!
