OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

thks diannep- I will write it hope to get a letter soon

Yes, it can be confusing, AndrewB/Mom.  Best way to keep up with your SR in training week/day count is to write and ask them to date their next letter and put in their training week/day on that day.  Then you can track it.  Remember days are counted 1-5.  Six training weeks.  Training day is written:  week/day

Comment by diannep on March 7, 2013 at 3:53pm

Remember that "Training" week/day count is different than "Bootcamp" week/day count because of the processing days before training starts.  There are 6 actual training weeks....and some "down" days after they become sailors, so those days fill in the extra days of bootcamp.

Diannep-Thank you for that information-very confusing sometimes

TJCsMom:  They didn't all begin training at the same time, but within days of each other.  Brother divisions train together so are on the same training week/day.

Kyou10- Welcome- we have cried on here and spoke out in volumes of missing our children- I promise you one thing it will get better! Its so hard in the beg of this but its going on my 3rd week for my son and once you get the call, form letter and box you will feel better-thats where alot of us are now

Comment by diannep on March 7, 2013 at 3:49pm

Ok, since all on this page here are in the 04/19 PIR group, all will PIR then unless an individual is setback for any reason.  As far as completion of training, a division can complete training anywhere from a week before PIR to a day before PIR.  They all finish at different times (but with their brother division).  So safe to say that the earliest any division in this PIR group will have sailors is Fri,  the 12th, and they may not have sailors then.  This is a rather small PIR group, so they may not start BattleStations (their final test) until PIR week.

Your divisions are in training week #1 this week....but their start date of each new training week will be on different weekdays.

LOL TJCsMom...I feel the same way! If my son gets pushed back I'm gonna be a weeeee bit upset! lol Because that means he wasn't putting 110% forward..however I don't think I'll have to worry about that too much..he's a go getter. I did call his recruiter and he's going to check and see if he can find out what training day 153 is on. He said he'd call back either way so I wouldn't be wondering :) gotta love those recruiters :)

B-Ready-that was such a lovely story. You have quite a sailor! You should be so proud of him! He will make the Navy Proud!
