OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

N4M's Community Guidelines
and
OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

momofsix, I thought we were already friends but we are not. I can't send you a message so send me a friend request and I will send you the info. There is a discount if you order four or more and you can get them for the whole family to wear even if they can't go to PIR but want to support your Sailor :) You can pay with PayPal, debit or credit over the phone or mail a check or money order.

Good snowy morning everyone. Everything is white here in the mountains of NC this morning. Snow day for the schools and it all needs to go away. I am ready for spring lol. I sure do hope all those traveling for this weeks PIR are able to get there with no problems.

momofsix, I am sending you a message with the link to the website. The Navy For Moms 4/19/13 option has been added to the ribbons on the website Let me know if you all have any questions.

Also, FTLW or Ellen will be adding discussions for each of the divisions to this page very soon so no need to start or add another group. There would probably be several who didn't find you all if you did that so be watching for the discussions to be added to this page. They will be listed right above the comment box :)

Is is possible to make a mini sub group?  Of course I would not want to leave the comfort of the Main group, but just to keep it all straight ?  Just asking ....
