~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

UBU'sMom:  We hear that about the letters sometimes being delayed.  I'm actually surprised they have received their mail already...have they been there for 2 weeks already?  They usually hold it for 2 weeks until the Recruit Mail Petty Officer is trained...theirs must have gotten trained quickly!  Don't worry, I bet he has received most of your letters by now.

Don't know if anyone watched the first episode of  "The Bible" on the History Channel tonight, produced by Roma Downey (Touched by an Angel) and her husband Mark Burnett.  Very good. There are 5 episodes and they will air each weekend.  Last one is Easter weekend.

That is a wonderful movie, Lala!  I love Betty White.  I am hooked on Hallmark movies!  :-)

Thanks Lala. From what I've heard she is in Sticks-flags

The first two divisions to form will be brother divisions and they do all training together. Then the next two divisions with do the same. This way not all the recruits are doing the same thing at the same time because there would be enough time in a day for them all to train in the pool, or do PFA workouts or even make phone calls. When they finish all the training and tests the first two divisions will be the first to finish and they will be the first to do battle stations and then the next two groups will finish and do BS as well. By PIR date everyone is all caught up with each other and ready to graduate.

I'm crying like a baby, just watched Lost Valentine on the Hallmark Channel. It was about a young woman who waited at the train Station every Valentines Day for her Sailor to come home who was missing in action for 66 years. It was real good but definitely a tear jerker for this Navy Mom :)

No melindy, they are not all on the same training day. Normally brother divisions are on the same day of training but the 900 divisions don't always have a brother division that they train with.

Here is some info to help you understand what your recruit may be doing and why he/she is in the Performing division.

Performing divisions info:

There are actually three different performing divisions that rotate. One is a working group called ships staff and they work behind the scenes with VIP's and as greeters, side boys and body snatchers. Side boys for a Receiving line for the VIP's to enter through at the start of the ceremony. Body snatchers walk up and down the isles of sailors and make eye contact and even speak to the sailors to make sure they are not about to pass out. They often lock their knees because they have to stand in one spot for such a long time. If they lock their knees it can cut off the blood flow and cause them to faint. Of course the sailor behind them does their best to catch them :) Another part of the performing divisions is the flag corp and they carry and perform with the 50 state flags during the ceremony. The third part is known as The Triple Threat. The Triple Threat is made up of the band, drill team and choir and they all perform throughout the ceremony. It is so amazing how they can pull this all off in such a short time and still accomplish all that is to be done during boot camp. They are either chosen for this division or they can volunteer for it. If they have band, flagcorps, drill team, choir, or marching experience they can volunteer. They can also be handpicked or volunteer if they have high ASVAB scores. They don't expect them to need as much time to study which gives a lot more time for practice :) Once they are in the performing DIV they may be able to try out to be a part of the Triple Threat and be in the band, choir, or drill team. I hope this helps you all understand what your recruits are doing.

Are all the divisions graduating on 4/19 on the same training day schedule? Anyone know?  I haven't heard anything from or about  my daughter's division 923

Just got the long awaited phone call. He is sooo home sick! We talked for about 20 minutes AND he got to call his g.f. He is so tired, but trying to stay positive and working hard! He has only gotten one letter even though I've written him every day! wonder why? I'm saying extra prayers tonight! I'm too excited, I hope I sleep tonight! :) I hope others will hear from their S.R.s, it sure helps to hear their voices.
