DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Got a letter from my SR today. She was excited to have participated in last Friday's PIR but she said it made her cry because seeing those sailors with their Moms made her miss me more-I am crying typing this -miss my Navy girl!
I'm starting to wish I had made my arrangements to come in on Wed too. But, instead I opted for the hurried and rushed arrival on Thursday. What was I thinking???
grph, I just got a letter from my SR, I've been scouring the photos of last weeks PIR trying to find her- turns out they made her a flag carrier! That seems silly to me, since the girl sings like a canary on steroids, but whatever. So now I'm looking through the pictures again!
This group will change to Alumni of ... You all can stay right here on this group and chat about what your SAILORS are doing and where they are going. :)
Debi- I found a few of the moms from here over on facebook & stay in touch that way. If you get onto a facebook page with your kid's pir date, they keep the page going afterwards so you get to see the familiar names talking about their Sailors. And some of them post pictures, so we can put a face to the name :)
Okay..what do we do next after our PIR? We will all be thrown to the four corners of the USA in so many different A schools and then beyond. We have all been on such a wonderful crazy ride with eachother...and now.. hmmmm
maybe we can tell the RDC's to keep our kids longer so we can stay together :) LOL
Good Morning!
