OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

N4M's Community Guidelines

OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

The only tshirts I know about are the division tshirts....they contain the flag design that the SRs made.  Could she have been the one who designed it?  Or...maybe she is buying for those who can't get them?  Or...for all of her family and friends!  But $600 worth?  WOW!

Here is the link to the division tshirts for those who want to order.  You cannot see your division's design on there.  You will have to just trust that you will like it!  It is a wonderful momento!

Forgot to tell you. My SR said the first thing she wants it a great big hug from all of us----well, duh!!!! I thought she knew we'd probably bowl her over with hugs!! So can't wait now... I don't think I'll be much good around here for the next two weeks!

I am soooo way excited... Good morning everyone. Got a letter yesterday from my SR. She sounds good, but ready to move on to "the future"!!! Also, she asked us to put $600 in her checking because she is buying t-shirts! It's for a good cause she says---- Does anyone know about this???

LESS THAN 2 WEEKS NOW !!!!  Six weeks ago, this particular time seemed forever away---- NOW IT'S HERE!!!

Have a great wonderful Saturday, weekend!!!
