Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Morning! Looks like it's a nice day in GL. Anyone live close to there? Here in Utah, we're finally in to spring!!! I got a letter from my SR yesterday. Actually it was three different letters. Sounds like they are all ready for this to be over! She is so funny and has asked that I bring her homemade cookies and brownies AND REAL milk!!! They only serve skim milk and no sweets. She's got to be a trooper. I know I would struggle with no chocolate for this long---a week maybe---but two months! LOL. THREE WEEKS FROM TODAY!!! SO EXCITED. I can't wait to see today's PIR pictures on facebook. Have a great day everyone.

Good morning everyone. Today i finally got to ditch my winter coat and trade it in for a zip up hoody!!! Hopefully spring is on the way!!!

Martie: I think she must have said that her division may get the Hall of Fame flag! That is the TOP flag that they get as a division. That is wonderful ! My son's division achieved that when he was there...he was quite proud!

Just want to say that all the men and women SR's are wonderful to do this! I really think its takes a special person and they will all be a better person after this journey!I am so proud to be on this site and all the wonderful mothers who support each other! I will never forget this experience and I was a total mess when I started and now I am doing great trying to get thru the next 3weeks!
