OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Should say that in order to be able to purchase "individual" pictures....you have to order a pkg first.  My son had ordered Pkg B when he was there (didn't include The Keel) and it was close to the same dollar amount, from what I remember.  Plus be sure to order the PIR DVD if your SR didn't...in the NEX after PIR.  That is about $29.

Good Morning All !

There are different pkgs of pictures.  Pkg A, which includes The Keel (yearbook) for free if your SR orders during bootcamp, is around $140.

Hi diannep, Thanks for the info.  My SR just wasn't sure if he'd have access to an ATM to get the money to pay for them.  Any idea on how much pictures run?

nestevenspointwi:  Division apparel?  Do you mean the division tshirts?  Both will have to be paid for before they are sent home.  But, yes, the SRs are able to order the division tshirts for you all.  My son paid for his pictures, but kept them there and gave them to me after PIR.  If they are mailed home, they usually arrive about a week before PIR, maybe even PIR week.  What a treat to get those before you see your new sailor!

Hi Everyone!  Received a letter today from our SR  (ship 03/Div 154)  Thanked his dad and I for how he was raised, said all the valuable Life Lessons and coaching has made him who he is today.  Can't believe there are only 3 weeks left.  We are so very proud of him.

He also mentioned that he's getting his pictures taken this week and placed an order for his Division apparel.  Does anyone know when this has to get paid for?  He's having them both sent directly home.
