Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Hey, anyone from 923 get letters this week? I checked with all my SR's people and no one heard from her, very unlike her. Just wondering if maybe they all missed getting to send letters? BC is such an odd time, not knowing anything, lol!

The dentist must be crazy busy..... All those wisdom teeth..... I have been printing out some family pictures on paper. Going to send them his way.... His sister has been writing Cody, still bugging him from afar....He oughta love it....Hoping for lots of letters, phone calls and peace of mind to all....... Good night..

I received a letter today. He is doing great, as well. Had 2 wisdom teeth removed and is healing nicely. He said he is having a great time.
He really appreciates all the letters. So, moms: keep writing those letters, it does make a difference. I ordered the challenge coinS too. They are very nice. Man, only 27 more days to go!!!!! Time is moving fast for me. I hope it is for you guys too. MOMOFSIX, 2 weeks!! I pray you get a call tomorrow! You deserve one.

just saw today's PIR on facebook. gave me chills and yes, i cried. i can't wait... 27 more days!!! i did get the challenge coin and it looks great. i think she's going to like it...i'm glad she is on the USS Arizona! my youngest daughter thought that was pretty cool, so i hope my SR does too. still haven't heard from her in 2 weeks!!! wondering what's going on with div 151~~
