~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Good morning all from the frozen tundra of Wisconsin. Today is the first day of spring. Last year we were at 80 degrees. Today we are at the coldest day for March a balmy 11 degrees with windchills at 3 degrees. The weatherman is not prediciting a warm up until some time in April :) Our SR's might be very happy to be in dress blues at PIR if this keeps up ;)
Hoping those buried in snow will be able to "dig out" today. I think the groundhog was WAY OFF in his predictions this year for many of you! Our winter down here in S. FL seemed to "go away" in Jan/Feb but came back in March. What's up with that? Now, we have mild winters, of course, but still....we are hot and muggy for so much of the year that we look forward to our 50's nights/70s days in the winter. Haven't had that many this year, but March has been wonderful so far!
Good Morning All!
So glad he is getting better, Lala, but hope they can find out what is causing the pain? My older son came home last night saying he had lower stomach cramps. Not sure why. He is my quiet one, man of few words, so couldn't get much info from him. He is at work today but said he still doesn't feel well. Lots of "stuff" going around in our world these days!
Good Morning All!
Good Morning Ladies! One more month! Hooray! Its so exciting! Have a great day!
I am a camara mom too momofsix :) I LOVE my camera. He is feeling better, still have no idea what was causing all the problems but he is getting better. He is going to a chiropractor for his back now, went yesterday and is going again on Thursday. They should have his x-rays by tomorrow so maybe they can help him.
Thanks jamminjars, i am glad your family had a fun time with the letter. I know when we did ours i laughed so hard I was crying lol.
Good evening all !! It has been another snowy day here in Upstate NY. I even had a two hour delay to go to school to teach. My students were bummed we did not have a snow day. The way the weather looks here we might get one yet !! Lala thanks for the idea about writing your SR from the family pet. My family had a riot doing that today we printed a pic of our dog wearing glasses and wrote a funny letter to my SR on it. Good times...30 days and counting down! Yes!
okay. thanks Lala. i had heard that you couldn't take a camera!!! I am such a picture mom (ask my kids). and you can't replace them!!! wow, can't believe we're down to 30 days! how is your son, Lala? i haven't been on for a couple of days. I remember you said he was going to the doctor yesterday. Good news???
Definitely take your camera. you can take all the pics you want in the PIR hall but none anywhere else on base. If they catch your taking them in other places they make make you erase the card and can even take your camera. When you get in the PIR hall take some practice shots to get the best pics for the lighting you have and your pics will turn out much better :)
does anyone know if we can take our own cameras to PIR? Are we allowed to take pictures?
i've been out of pocket but wanted to say thanks Debi for the comic strip! i found another one that is too cute!!
