N4M's Community Guidelines
and
OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Hello All. Do you have any recommendations on hotels?

The Holiday Inn Express in Waukegan Gurnee:

      611 Lakehurst Road

      Waukegan, IL 60085

      847-473-4400

It is just a short distance from the Meet & Greet at the Sundance Saloon hosted by Sarge.  Lots of information, free food, fun, and kid-and-family-friendly as it is closed to the public for this Navy family event!  Hot serve yourself breakfast with biscuits & gravy, bacon, sausage, waffles, fruit, cereal, pastries, juice, coffee, etc.  Indoor pool and if your SR wants to use that, he/she needs to bring their Navy issued swim attire.  There is a McDonald's right next door.  Adjacent to the SuperWalmart and eateries. This hotel is about 3 years old, so it's a newer hotel!

RobinsMom:  You and I think alike!  Loved the letter from the dog!

There is a Holiday Inn Express closer than Libertyville.  CatMom stayed in it....Waukegan/Gurnee area.  Libertyville is not that far though....but the other one is only 4-5 miles from RTC.

Good Morning All!

RobinsMom96,

Sounds like some really fun letter writing from your Niko!!  Your SR will love all the fun letters coming from you!

If you send any comic strips, be sure to photocopy them.  Newsprint gets all over their hands and onto the barracks or their uniforms~~

There's a Holiday Inn Express in Libertyville. I've always had good experiences with that chain and a decent breakfast is included. They gave me a very slight discount. I would reserve soon, for sure.

Has everyone reserved their hotels yet?  We did and I heard area hotels fill up fast.  Unfortunately, because I am handicapped and have a very bad back, I needed to make sure to stay at a hotel where I know the beds are comfy.  That hotel is 15 miles from base.  I hope I don't get stuck in too much traffic.

diannep, I love your idea. I made sure my son's two best friends have his address and we have lots of family. I try to make many of my letters as fun as possible. I wrote one to him from our little dog Niko (see profile pic) that my son just adores. I made the writing all backwards and messy, dipped my dog's paws in washable red paint, and put little paw prints all over it. I know he's going to love it. I also do jokes, funny animal facts, etc. Copy/paste pictures. I'm having a blast doing it and I know he's going to have a blast reading it. So much of our relationship is making each other laugh. Oh boy. I'm tearing up now. lol

No problem, CatMom!  That is why I use 2 different browsers.....so I can stay on the page and check a question out on another browser!

animesweetart::  Hoping there is a letter in the mail for you soon!
