for
~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Got my letter today!! YAY Ship 11 Div 155
Hello Friends!
"The Lord Almighty has sworn,
'Surely as I have planned, so it will be,
and as I have purposed, so it will stand.' "
Isaiah 14:24
Noodles: Correct. There are NO overnights for the sailors during PIR weekend....whether flying out the next day/day after or staying in GL for A School.
TY CatMom509 for the info...it really helps.
From what I was told the Sailors have to report back to their ship Friday night. If they aren't shipping out until Sunday then you can pick them back up on Saturday morning and spend the day with them, they must report back Saturday night.
I haven't received a letter yet either but I've already been through this with my daughter as she went off to college 6 hours away. I just miss the daily texts and/or calls.
Good Morning!
Proud of my Son,
This week you will probably receive your form letter! :)
Stevensmom,
Your new Sailor has to be back at RTC to finish packing up on Friday night at a time between 6 - 8 pm that they will be told by their RDCs exactly when and they can't be late! So most will want to be making their way back about 1 hour prior to that deadline. In the Navy, if you are on time, you are late!
So, no overnights with the family at all and that goes for the ones who have A school at Great Lakes. They have to report back to base every night~~
You will be able to meet them at either O'Hare or Midway in the early morning hours -- aim for 3:00 am -- to give the their cell phones, cell phone chargers, laptops, a/c adapters, own comfy underwear, maybe some favorite snacks from your area. Bring your id to get a gate pass to go with them through the security checkpoint and see them off at the gate! Take pics of them with buddies~~
Oh, please bring a set of comfortable clothes for them to wear in your hotel room only after they have taken a nice, relaxing private shower!!
