~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

NavySis:  No letters?  I wonder why he doesn't want to receive any letters?

PrdNavyBlueMom:  Ok, Ship 2 address on the RTC site has 3156?  I don't think it really matters....it may take a little longer to get to him on base, but probably not.  Here is the link to the ship addresses on RTC site:

Hello, My son is in Ship 09, Div 149 with PIR scheduled for 4/25.  We have received the form letter and the box - but that is it.  I miss him like crazy.  I hope he is still with some of the guys who left from Columbus, OH on 4/20th.  My son's picture is in the picture posted by Larry's mon (Jennifer) - just in front of Larry!  Hope they are still together.

Hi
Comment by PrdNavyBlueMom on March 6, 2014 at 2:29pm

Hi Ladies,

I received a personal letter from my SR yesterday and the form letter today.  He is Ship 02, Div. 924.  Wondering if anyone else has a SR in that ship and division?

I have a question on the mailing address.  The personal letter had  the zip+4 as 60088-7103, the form letter says 60088-7105.  I already mailed a letter out yesterday with the 7103 on it.  I'm hoping that it will still get to him if 7105 is the correct ending to the zip code.   Anyone know which would be correct?

Diannep THANK YOU so much for all the info. I'm going to start calling this morning. You mentioned Milwaukee WI or Chicago Midway do you not suggest flying into O'Hare? That's where I originally thought I would fly into. Please let me know. I do know Southwest doesn't fly to O'hare from los angeles.

Traysea:  Don't think there is a Navy Grad rate at Navy Lodge but their regular rates are good   $66-$71 I believe.  Just book in your SR's name if you yourself do not have military ID.  The other hotels I mentioned below usually will offer a Navy Grad rate if you call direct and ask.

Comment by diannep on March 6, 2014 at 9:46am

Traysea:  Call the hotels direct....check into Navy Lodge Great Lakes (book in your SR's name unless you have military ID), Springhill Suites, Courtyard Inn, Residence Inn, or Holiday Inn Express.  Ask for the Navy Graduation rate at each.  Also, checkout Southwest Airlines into Milwaukee WI (45 min to GL) or Chicago Midway (hour+ to GL).  No change fee, 2 bags check for free!
Good Morning All !
