Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

I also received my daughter's box and form letter today! Ran to the post office to get those letters off to her! She's in Ship: 09 Div: 150. After graduation, she'll stay in Chicago for A school to be a Gunner's Mate. I noticed that other moms mentioned that they received their boxes and would smell the shirt in it since it smelled like their child. SOOOooo.... yep, I smelled it. Whoo-weee... smelled like dirty laundry stuck in a box for a week!!! I won't be sleeping with her shirt tonight like those other moms. Does that make me a bad mom? LOL! Have a good evening, Ladies!

Hello, I got her form letter and box today...it's truely the small things. I can't even tell you how Happy this made me. It's like that knot in my stomach decreased by half...lol. I mailed off about 5 letters and her Birthday card, and that makes me happy :)...I'll keep sending many positive thoughts and prayers. That's for being there girls :) and I love the scripture <3

Welcome to Navy for Moms!!
My Sailor Daughter's PIR was March 2013--can't believe how fast time has flown!. She is an IT3 (Information Systems Technician, Petty Officer Third Class) stationed in Norfolk, Virginia. I primarily provide scriptural encouragement for the PIR groups, Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) and a few of the other groups that I am a member of. I'll also help out with anything that I am familiar with--all kinds of tidbits I learned during my daughter's Boot Camp experience~~ This site really made the time go much faster. I'm so thankful that my Sailor daughter sent me the link for this awesome group of friends when she enlisted!! Count 9 Fridays and before you know it, you'll be seeing your baby again at PIR!! Here we go!!!

Hi!!
Welcome to your PIR group!
My son graduated BC in April of 2012. He is an ET3, stayed in GL for A School, went to C School in San Diego, and is currently stationed in Japan. The ship he is attached to is a Whidbey Island-class landing ship, part of the Bonhomme Richard Amphibious Ready Group (ARG).
A few other veteran moms will be joining to help answer questions, offer support, and give you lots of information.
There will also be lots of pages posted with information for you along the way. They will be posted as the subjects come up!
Remember there are no dumb questions, so ask away!
Fasten your seatbelts...the next few weeks will be a roller coaster ride, but at the end of the ride you are in for the best hug ever!!
