OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Ladies,

I understand you are anxious to find out about our SRs and get that call, but just FYI my friend DID NOT get her I'm a sailor call until Wednesday at 7pm, on her way to Illinois.  So if you don't get a call don't worry about it there are many reasons why someone won't call.  Hope this helps calm the nerves :)

This is what lemonelephant posted regarding time with our Sailor on Friday: Note to others. the 10 minutes with her Sailor was because her Sailor stayed in GL and had to check in across the street. That "10 minutes" has been longer at times, but remember if that applies to your Sailor, you will get to spend time with your Sailor after s/he checks in across the street and you are able to spend time each day of the weekend with your Sailor. If your Sailor flies out to "A" School or training, then you will be able to spend from about 10:30 when Liberty is called until sometime around 8 or 9 pm that night with your Sailor and then will be able to meet him/her at the airport the next day. See PIR Day and Liberty during PIR Weekend.

I hope I didn't over step lemonelephant for reposting your comment.

Here's Part 2 from MissMaryE~

Part 2

Up bright and early Friday morning was easy! We were so excited to see our sailor, to finally get to be a part of all he had worked so hard for...

The hall is ominous in size, and depending on when you arrive, it is filled with excitement, love, appreciation and with the reverence of respect. You are taught of the rich Navy history, the culture and what it means to be "Navy Proud and Navy Strong"

The drums, the bands, the flags, the music I grew up listening to, never knowing never understanding they were the very songs that were associated with the military branches...we're amazing...and then after all the fan fair, the waiting, the entertainment, they announce the divisions were to prepare for inspection... The garage door rolls up, and with the bands playing and the drums pounding... All the graduating division March In!!!

They looked amazing!! They sounded awesome!!! They marched IN STEP, together as a division! My heart was overjoyed with pride, love and appreciation, for every young man and young women who had arrived at boot camp, scared , intimidated and homesick , because at that moment they had become Navy Sailors!!

His division was the only division to receive a "divisional- ITE," and yet it was the only division to receive all 5 of the achievement/challenge flags! As his division was announced to crowd erupted in volume, the only division to receive the highest level of noise from the crowd.

When Liberty was called... We found our sailor! He looked different, he stood different. He was a Sailor, he was Navy Sailor strong, and all my worrying, was just that...worrying.

You only have 10mins with your Sailor, before they are instructed to leave... Enjoy them, embrace them and take lots of pics! As I walked out and followed the side walk back to the parking garage, filed in front of me for at least a half of a mile, was a sea of white hats and black coats! It's was sobering. A memory that will forever be in my mind! They, the newest graduating Sailors, no longer belonged to us, the parents, they belong to the Navy, their dreams and ALL they had been prepared to fight for...

To all the mothers here... To all those that spend their days worrying, hoping for and investing time in writing ALL those letters... Please know this... Your Sailor LOVES you, and deep down inside of each of them is this daily drive to succeed, so that you will share with them, ALL that it means to be a Sailor in the US Navy.

My husband and I are so proud of my son, and so proud to be going home to our new grandson... Our hearts are filled with such joy and excitement we can barely handle ourselves! These two millstones will be forever be linked together, in time, as simply an "AMAZING weekend."

Good Morning, I am so mad that I recently found this site. Anxiously waiting to see my husband. My mother-in-law, little sister-in-law, and myself will all be in attendance for the meet and greet. Can't wait to meet you all!
