Welcome to the Division Discussion for divisions 157 and 158

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

Just hang in there, sometimes I think it's harder on the moms (and dads) than it is for the recruits. I am happy that my son is manning up and handling all that is going on with a good attitude. Luckily for us this is just for a few more weeks. I'm still hoping to receive another phone call. I'll follow your example and keep my phone with me at all times.

Thanks Mary - you rock!

It should be letter day, hope everyone gets one. Not sure if they are going to be able to call this weekend but I'll keep my fingers crossed. Four weeks and counting

Yippee! 4 flags for our kids and my girl said they are all working really closely and the RDC is proud of them! For her to know that must mean that the RDC really IS proud of them! She passed her swim test with flying colors and earned a 10 minute call - now I'm just waiting til it comes! She said the guys are really awesome and they all have gotten close. A little family (not so little at 88) for our kids while they are away...I love this! Hope everyone got letters!!

Hi Chele,   I've been getting letters every Thursday and my son is saying the same thing.  The RDC's are lightening up and the recruits are all working well together.  I thought I might get a call this weekend but did not.  I miss hearing his voice but am glad for the letters.  He said that they received an athletic flag, although I am not sure what that is.  He also said that he ran into some new recruits when he went to get new glasses.  They were all afraid of him, thinking he was an RDC.  Once they found out he wasn't they swarmed him with questions.  Our kids have come so far in such a little time.  I am one proud mama.

They really have come a long way! That's a cute story too. I dont' know how they win the athletic flag, but I was super happy about the scholastic one! Wish I knew all 4 of the ones they got! And if they got any more! Wouldn't that cool if they earned all 6!!! Oh, be still my heart. It would hold that amount pride! lol Yes..letters on Thursdays....the best day of the week!

One day closer to PIR.  I know the recruits are getting excited about Battlestations and getting this portion of their training over with.  I am sure that they are starting to get excited about A School also. I hope the weather settles down before the 26th.  I saw a video showing PIR for another group and it was very emotional when the bay doors opened and the recruits came in.  I'll have to invest in some waterproof mascara, I'm sure to be a mess.

Mary - Great idea about the waterproof mascara!  I didn't think about that, but I think it will be a must!!  I finally see the "light" at the end of the tunnel.  Two weeks from tomorrow will be traveling day!  Cannot wait! :)

Hi Moms,

I received another letter today, thank God for Thursdays. On the Boot Camp questionaire it has a question about Battlestations that says,"don't let the Ninjas get you". Does anyone know what that means? My son responded that he knew a Ninja would get him but did not elaborate. He said that they had finished Hell Week last week and all that is left is Gas Chamber, Fire fighting lab, and Battlestations. He said they received an independent steaming pendant (not sure what that is).  They were so good at their first solo march that they got to learn some trick marches as a rewards. They also won all their flags; athletics, drill, scholatics, and inspection. I am so proud of how far these recruits have come.

Ninjas?? Oh goodness....I sent her some info I received about the gas chamber..I hope she uses it. Kudos to them for learning extra stuff! Still waiting on our mail truck....every other day he's here by 2....it's almost 4! lol
