N4M's Community Guidelines

OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Hi Mary....I'm sorry I don't remember...what division is your son in?

Comment by Sunshine Sandy on March 20, 2013 at 7:02pm

Got my first letter from my son :)  It is truly a happy day.  Received 2 envelopes but one had 3 letters in it so really I got 4 letters with different dates.

Just got call #2 from my son and he was not happy about the guys still not pulling together as a team. He seemed very down. He also said he wouldn't be calling again for a while-ugh! Here I was so happy that I would be hearing from him on Saturdays. I am praying hard for the division in hopes that they pull together and start working like a team-soon.

Remember that 3 yrs and up need to be on the guest list.  All retired military and active duty military need to be on the list also.  This is a change from previous years, when those 12 and under didn't need to be on the list, nor did active/retired military.  There will be no "extras" allowed on the base.  Just the 4 on the guest lists.  Your SRs will be able to update these lists about a week before PIR so if you need changes/additions, be sure to write them now.

4 Guests per Sailor for this group!  The discrepancy could have been when they weren't sure how many divisions were in this PIR group, since that determines the number of guests per sailor.  But....4 it is!

I'm not sure why but on my form letter it has 4 crossed out with a 3 next to it for the amount of people allowed at graduation. I read if there are more than a certain amount of divisions only 3 guest will be allowed.. Anyone else have only 3 allowed for graduation?
Comment by diannep on March 20, 2013 at 12:51pm

...and, no, unfortunately more than 4 will not even be allowed on RTC.  The extras will need to remain at the hotel and meet up with your sailor later.  :-(

soccermom:  Hoping that maybe his little brother or sister is 2 or under?  In that case, he/she would not take up a space on the list.

Momof5, Unfortunately things started to change for PIR attendance in Oct. Everyone three years old and older must be on the guest list, including active and retired military.

We just bought our plane tickets for 4/26 graduation.  I am so excited.... Now I have to decide what to wear and what to bring......  Happy Day today......    Happy Spring....
