Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

I just got my letter! FYI - My son reported to GL late on Tuesday 3/6. I live in the Chicago area. His box came within 36 hours and the letter arrived today!

Great! When did your SR report? I was surprised my son will be graduating 4/27; I expected 5/4. Where are you from? We live in the far south suburbs of Chicago but it's more than 50 miles from Great Lakes, so he won't be able to come home on PIR weekend. Mike is 22 and was in DEP for 9 months. He signed up for AECF which means his A school will be at Great Lakes. What about your SR?

He reported last Sunday at 1:00. We too live in the south suburbs. We live just under the 50 mile mark, yay! Kevin is 18 and he was in DEP for about 6 months. I think that he is signed up for the same job and will be in the same school!

The only ones who normally get to hang for the weekend of PIR are the ones who will be reaming in Chicago for training. Most of the kids are given their orders prior to graduation, they have their sea bags packed and are off to the air port or heading down the road to their next assignment. In most cases they get to see mom and dad, spouses etc for about 1-4 hours which is the norm! Once they reach their training assignment if their class has formed up yet, then they can take leave or wait until later.

My son reported to Great Lakes 3/6 I rec'd my kid in box Friday 03/09/12. He is Ship 11 Div 132 I was told his graduation date is 05/04/12. He is also AECF.
My son was to report 09/7/11 however he had a wart on his hand which disqualified him so he had to wait till March. Funny thing DEP doctor told him it is no longer a disqualifier. Ron will be 24 in June and is a college grade. Education was his major, special education, however he is in debt up to his ears and decided quite awhile ago he was going Navy.

My son reported on 3/6 from Jacksonville FL and I too was anticipating a May 4th graduation but I got the letter today and it says 4/27!! He was put in a division that was already formed. I am so excited today!

Got my letter today he is graduating 04/27, nice little note about having to stay up 40 hours straight, its hell and the yelling never stops...but he says it will get better. Sounds like he's having a blast!

Mine said the same thing about 42 hours straight! They must have kept them up so they could join the training group and catch up, it seems their division had everything happen a lot faster for them which is great for us waiting moms!!!

@ kimmYfromtheblock - Is your SR in 132 or 131? I don't see a 132 group started yet. I still don't quite understand how big these ships are?? How many divisions are in each ship? Isn't a ship just like a big barracks? So does Division 131 sleep next to Division 132 or are they in a separate room? I wish they would let us see a "ship".

My son is also in this division. I was also thinking he would be graduating in the beginning of May. Has anyone gotten any other mail from your recruit besides the letter with the address?
