We are staying at the residence Inn ..PRAY FOR A CALL TODAY OR TOMORROW!!!!! XOXOX
I got a 20 minute call yesterday around 330. He sounded very upbeat and happy, just like my kid!
Stickler? does that name mean anything? I thought I read it here. He knows Stickler. lol Anyway his bunk mate below him is from Nebraska just turned 21. I cant recall his name.
He said they will be up for abt 40 hours again, have battlestations, then either on Wednesday or Thursday they can make phone calls all day so he's been told, but things can change.
He said he just cant wait to get out of boot camp and move forward. He will find out if he is an ET or FC hopefully this week.
Hi everyone. Got a call Sat. too for 15 min. I was so happy. There is a lot of disrespect going on in there but my son say he can handle it. He just wants to graduate and get the hell out of there. I told he to hang in there it's almost over and that I know he can do it. Cant wait to give him MOMMY'S BIG HUGS AND KISSES. :)
Ivory, thats basically what my son said, he is ready to get the hell outta there also. lol
Stacie that is really crappy. Sorry that happened to him. Karma is a bitch and I believe in it. Our guys need to keep focused on the end cause its coming soon. Cant wait to see my kid!
Yes, that sure does seem to be the consensus. My son has had enough already and can't wait till it's over! Same here .. can't wait to see them all. I missed my call on Saturday, but fortunately he reached his girlfriend and that cheered him up.
16 days 10 hours!! Hope we get another letter soon. :) He keeps saying he can't wait to eat after PIR. lol that we're going to be doing a lot of eating LOL he says the food is great there, but for the most part the same as they always have. I can't wait to be able to send care packages to him. :)
After 6+ attempts on sat. my fiance was able to get a hold of me. Unfortunately we were only able to talk for 4 minutes but it was so good to hear his voice. He said he got a good laugh the other day. He was waiting for the iron and board and the guy in front of him looked like he didn't know what he was doing. So Justin asked him if he needed help and the guy said no. After he left, Justin got to the iron and the guy hadn't even turned it on! Poor kid. Needless to say, Justin's mom got a very nice letter telling her how much he appreciated her teaching him how to do his laundry. Glad he knows how cause I sure am bad at it!!
Yes!!! 16 days!!! Bought my plane tickets on sunday and counting down! We've almost made it!!! Keep your chins up ladies =+)
Hi Ladies! We got a letter on Thursday from our SR. He had a lot of information in it. Sorry I didn't get on here sooner to post, but things are getting busy around here. 10 days and 3 hours to go yay! The letter was dated April 5th and said they were in the middle of Hell week, which we have heard since through a phone call to his g/f that ehy made it through fine. They had a personnel inspection and weapons turnover inspection. As a division they scored a 4.75 and 4.92 (out of 5.0) respectively. They also had the second PFA (physical fitness assessment) at 4:45am on Tuesday (April 3rd). They had an inspection on their racks and lockers and the division as a whole scored a 4.87 overall for the house (how clean things were) then a 4.80 for the racks overall. They received a flag for scoring well on this. For the PFA the division scored a 4.84 which is usually what the 800 divisions (seals and special warfare) score, so they earned a flag for this. They did simulated small arms fire with the m9 postol and the m500 shotgun. They did live fire and the qualification course of fire for the m9 on Thurs April 5th. If they get 180 to 203 they get a plain ribbon for their uniform for marksman, if they get 204 to 227 they get a ribbon with an s on it for sharpshooter, or if they get 228 to 240(perfect score) they get a ribbon with an E on it for expert and a medal. They also got to fire a few shots with the shotgun. He thought they were going to be getting their photos taken on Friday April 6th but wasn't sure yet. And possibly going to the store on Saturday and getting a phone call possibly (which he did call his g/f). He said they would have their second test and one of their military drill assessments on Monday April April 9th. They also found out what job assignments they will be doing for their school - Our SR will be a Nuke MM(machinist mate). Only 10 days and a few hours to go - Can't wait!!!
Thanks Michael's sister for the great update! My SR has written quite a few letters, but they are very short! I really appreciate you providing more details of what the division is up to.
