Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!
Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!
Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Good morning everyone and Happy Good Friday :) I hope you have a very nice Easter weekend. My hubby and I rented a cabin in Cherokee NC and are looking forward to some time outdoors. We found out very recently that he has diabetes and for a little over a week we have been getting used to a new way of eating to live. We have other family members camping with us this weekend so this will be a test for us to stick to our new lives. It may be hard but I have faith we can do this and have a great time together :) I hope you all are doing something fun and have beautiful weather :)

Loralee, you are right. No news is good news. I just hope that I am not going to get a call from him tomorrow!!!! They are always in my prayers. I can't imagine how frustrated and worried they are, when they are injured.
May god bless all the SRs, especially for those who are injured.

So sad that so many are talking about injuries now. I haven't heard from Blaine on his knee. "No news is good news" right. Praying for all of them.

I just got a call from my man this afternoon. I was sooooo happy, but he brought me some bad news. He said that he might not be graduating on time coz he hurt his groin. Went to medical today and he is going to know the result tomorrow. I am feeling so sad and worried right now.
I just hope that he can make it through the last 2 weeks......

I just got a call from my husband. He said "I just want to tell you right off the bat I only get 1 minute to talk because some guys messed up" he told me he's doing well, got sharp shooter with his shooting and is doing "better" on his tests. I asked how he could be doing better than good and he said when he got there he was getting in the low 90s on them. He told me a couple guys were sent home for cardiac problems.
Only 2 weeks left!
