~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Vikiboo what ship and division is your daughter in? Happy for everyone getting their calls! Still waiting patiently.... ok not so patiently! :)
Hooray, we just got a call from our SR (12/167)! Got to talk for 25 minutes. She said most likely they'll get to call every week on Saturdays. Reason they didn't yesterday was they had to have scabies inspection, Apparently ther has been an outbreak, yuck. She sounded strong and confident, despite some IT she had to do right before the call. She passed all the tests including PT with flying colors. She had been a bitsick after the vaccinations, but not for long. Also last week they dug out 2 of her wisdom teeth, and she still has some pain, yet she is not whining or complaining about it. Just matter of factly. She is looking forward to starting the "real training" as she calls it, soon.
She would like to get a pedicure after PIR : ))
My heart goes out to all the SRs that are suffering from exhaustion, illnesses, homesickness, etc. I pray every night for my daughter and all of the other SRs in this PIR group along with their families. It is so hard not to be there with them, to comfort them. My daughter mentioned the worst for her is not being able to contact us even if she wanted to. They are so used to being able to phone, text, email, etc. that it is harder for them (I think), then generations past.
My son (sorry again for the "my son"), he was in a push division, had 3 wisdom teeth out (never had a fourth. 3 days SIQ/LLD), had a "cyst" taken off his back (no swimming pool four days), failed his prone float (no fat to float), pneumonia (3 days in SIQ/LLD), failed his run (pneumonia). Was I worried, you bet, but he had all the "extra help" he need to pass, and was given every opportunity to catch up. He did make it to his PIR and graduate as planned.
It's hard being a mom and not able to help with hugs and chicken soup. They are being taken care of and yours too can make it through all the ups and downs of BC.
Hugs to all of you worrying, and a prayer your way.
Diannep, thank you so much for your thoughts and ideas! We are also a very natural family- he hardly ever was sick, worked out faithfully 2X/day at the gym, participated in year-round sports, and never ran to the Dr for anything unless it was not resolving quickly. I'm not fond of antibiotics because of overuse/immune bacterias, etc...so hopefully his normally healthy immune system will help him in this case to recover quickly. Along with all the other SRs suffering from sickness, homesickness, exhaustion,etc...Prayers for each and every one of them today, Palm Sunday. Hoping he calls today and you all hear from your loved ones too!
Prayers for your Son. I know how difficult it is worrying about them.
Another mom and I have a bit of a funny idea; with missing our sons and the wish that we could wear blue cammies and see how are kids are doing ourselves (haha) we are calling our selves the 'Blue Mamas'. We are both planning on going to Sarge's meet and greet. I was going to pick up 'Blue Mama' shirts for anyone that is interested on being able to recognize eachother. I can mail them out. Please let me know if your interested and what size (in women's). If your a sister/fiancee/dad etc. let me know and I'll see about getting that put on that. If you could inbox me so it'll be easier to keep a list.
Thanks!
...also the push divisions will get through this! They always do!
