Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

His pics are in my SR's Year books : (((. I'm not telling in my letters. My heart goes out to all families suffering the losses recent or long ago

They gave me an address to go to to pick it up or they would attempt to deliver it again. I wouldn't have been home Tues either. I went to go pick it up instead of waiting on it.

Erica, are you expecting a cell phone back? Sometimes they donate the clothes if they don't have anything that needs to go back home. They are normally delivered by FedEx so check with neighbors, look for a attempted delivery sticker that could have blown off the door. They have to be signed for I believe. Although I did hear that one mom found the box on the front porch several weeks after it was delivered. She always went in through her garage and didn't know the box was on the front porch until she went out to plant flower in her flower bed lol.

I would suggest that if you all want to be on a facebook group you go to that one. There are admins there who make sure the OPSEC rules are followed and they are closed groups so they are a little better than an open facebook group that anyone can go to or post on without joining. But please continue to come to this site and page as well. There are many members here who don't "do facebook" and we want you all to be able to connect with as many members as possible :) Thanks so much.
