For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

I think that will lift their spirits ( and ours). I sure miss her and worry now that she was holding some of her feelings back to please us. It makes me sad to think of it. I haven't talked to her boyfriend yet to see what she told him...

Hasn't gotten any of our letters yet. Sent them out right away hopefully he will get soon to help lift him up. Asked to please write and would do the same. Hugs and sweet dreams to all.

AND his letter came so we got his address. Would have written sooner but we had to run to the Post Office before the final mail run of the day!

I think he was more emotional then usual since he had to call so many times without getting a hold of me. He called several times at home too until husband picked up. Sounded like he was fighting a cold too. Yeah I tried warning him about working out beforehand. I bet he wishes he did now though. Did say had gym teacher in division and he was almost passing out during ITE too. But your right Marla Rae if she was in shape before leaving I'm sure it isn't as bad. He did say though sometimes people get lucky and have watch and miss out of ITE. He himself was fortunate once. He's over 6 ft and close to 200 lbs so I'm sure that doesn't help.

Comment by diannep on March 16, 2013 at 4:48pm: Hoping that those who missed the calls won't have to wait long for the next ones...I know it is so hard to miss them, but unless you glue the phone to your body, it happens! There is no rhyme or reason for calls...they can come at any time.

Hang in there....
