Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Comment by Melissa (14/175) on April 27, 2013 at 8:54am: Maybe that's why my SR didn't specifically mention Hall of Fame to me.. or the fact he might want it to be a surprise.. Who knows. We will all know for sure during PIR!!!

Either way I am really proud of his division and the fact that they are even in contention for hall of fame!!

Comment by diannep on April 27, 2013 at 8:47am: Melissa: My son's division received the Hall of Fame flag when he was there, but didn't know the final decision until after BattleStations. They knew they were in contention before then. Not sure exactly how it all works ....if the winner is always determined after BattleStations, or if they can have winners before Battlestations, like you mentioned. Either way, the Hall of Fame flag is the top division honor so that is great!

Comment by Melissa (14/175) on April 27, 2013 at 8:24am: sarmar: I got my weekly wednesday letters on time. Maybe your SR ran out of supplies and didn't say anything about it.? My SR wrote in one of his letters a few weeks ago on the very last one PS I am out of envelopes and stationery. Sorry

I scrambled to the store to get him stuff and i sent it up the next day. Otherwise i wouldn't have gotten mail this week..

I am not sure why he didn't call you... again maybe out of a calling card.? I know that they are starting to run out of time on their cards.

He told me on the phone yesterday that they 5.0'd on 2 different things and that's how they earned the call... as for Hall of Fame I knew they had been on the track but my SR hadn't mentioned it in a while. I am on the FB page and another wife that is in 175 said they got hall of fame. It is easy for me to believe becuase of how well they have been doing
