~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

I know what date my SR is doing his BS but i didnt want to give it away on this public site! ;)

But thank you diannep, you answered my question. I wasn't sure if they had training up til the day of BS or if they were able to be more relaxed.

I now know that they will have training up until the BS date.

Good Morning All !

Comment by diannep on April 21, 2013 at 8:33pm

Melissa:  Being one of the last divisions to do BattleStations, they will be "working" right up until BattleStations date.  Remember, they started their training after the lower-numbered divisions so they are a little behind them in their training.

And, yes, it is true that PIR groups can do BattleStations through Wed  night of PIR week, finishing the next morning...the day they all finish BattleStations, they get to "hit their racks" at 8 pm....I'm sure they are ready!  However, that is not the case for this group---going on Wed night...I have the dates for them.

Comment by diannep on April 21, 2013 at 8:26pm

Tara, this PIR group should still be able to get them from Poseiden Sportswear.  I believe they were providing them through the May 10th group before the other company took over. Give them a call at the following number to see about that.  Please post here what you find out:

Hi, someone posted in the last few days about how to get division tshirts after PIR. Anyone remember the website?

Comment by Melissa (14/175) on April 21, 2013 at 8:01pm

My SR will be having BS close to one of the last days, so what about him? Will he still have his intensive training through week 6 and as soon as Battle Stations start for all the divisions they will get more relaxed and have more free time up until his BS date? Or is that only after they pass BS?

Comment by ellen0502 on April 21, 2013 at 7:46pm

After BS they still study their Navy Manual, have PT, marching, trips to the NEX and phone bank, more time to write letters, inspections, ironing, and the Ninja's may attack more often. :)

They will probably get a "pizza party" with music and fun time, so much of the same stuff just a little more relaxed about it. They will also have practice for PIR several times, and be briefed on how to handle themselves PIR weekend.

Comment by Melissa (14/175) on April 21, 2013 at 7:25pm

Diannep: what will the SRs do after they complete battle stations? If they have battle stations at the beginning of the week what would they do for the rest of the week? If they are the last ones to go through BS then do they get a day of rest and then PIR the next day?

Comment by diannep on April 21, 2013 at 6:25pm

This group will be starting BattleStations this week!  I have some dates for those who have not received them.  Friend request me/message me and I will be glad to send the info to you.  They are SAILORS when they complete this (and have the capping ceremony).  Exciting!  Remember, we are not allowed to post BattleStations dates on here or FB.  RTC asked us to stop doing that about 2 yrs ago.  They want you all to start practicing OPSEC....which means....no discussion of ship movement/location until 'after the fact.'

Looking forward to meeting you all at Sarge's Meet and Greet a week from Thursday!!! Msandi and I are anxious to get the "I'm a Sailor" call, the next big hurdle for him to get past!
